Gigi's Poems

I write to encourage others to know, love, and draw near to God.

, ,
Thou, that slept inside the boat,
Soundly, through the storm’s harsh notes,
Give my friend a peaceful rest,
Free from thoughts that sleep molest.

Thou who stills the raging storm,
Wrap ‘round her protecting arms,
Spare my friend from fear and dread,
Send Your angels round her bed.

Thou who suffered with all pain;
Complete loss for our great gain,
In affliction comfort her,
Agonies from her defer.

In your time all will be new,
No need of sleep, no pain to rue,
All becomes joy, peace, and light,
Thou will put all wrongs to right.

All praise to God of ‘ternal rest,
All praise His Son whom fears arrest,
All praise to Spirit Comforter,
Safe, Beloved Harborer.

This prayer poem was written at 2 am for a friend, sleepless with cancer pain.
